Rene Magritte at SF MOMA

Cabrio Taxi just concluded a fun and successful experiential campaign with MKTG and SFMOMA. Our drivers posed as Rene Magritte’s Son Of Man in various high traffic areas of San Francisco and gave complimentary rides and free golden tickets to see the exhibit. It was a smash hit, and we got great feedback from the public. Our pedicab drivers agree that this was one of, if not the most, fun activations we’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in.

Another Magenta Summer with T-Mobile

With the end of the summer, came an end to our extended campaign with T-Mobile. We’re sad to see the bright magenta wraps go for now, and look forward to partnering again next summer.

This spring T-Mobile opened their sixth Signature Store just off Market St. near Union Square. Cabrio Taxi’s pedicabs were on hand to provide transportation to and from the store for customers, staff and VIP’s. T-Mobile Executive Vice President Jon Freier posted this video tour of the new store on Twitter.

Later in the summer, T-Mobile partnered with us to provide free rides for fans heading to AT&T Park, the new Signature store, San Francisco’s Fleet Week, and several other notable events thorough out the city.

Cabrio Taxi also provided transportation for T-Mobile employees during their Unstoppable Tour and were featured in the video link here.

Cabrio and the Cabinet of Curiosities

Cirque du Soleil's Big Top has encamped at San Francisco's ATT Park until January 18, 2015 with their current show, Kurios - Cabinet of Curiosities. With whimsically steampunk aesthetics coupled with spectacular acrobatics, our crew had the privilege of seeing Cirque's final dress rehearsal before the premiere and we were blown away. Critics say that it's the best show the Cirque has performed in years. And we agree.

Kurios-themed pedicabs are currently making up parts of our fleet and we will make a special effort to have these pedicabs available to Kurious guests before shows at:

  • 8 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays
  • 4:30 and 8 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays
  • 1:30 and 5 p.m. Sundays

Look for us between our Ferry Building Pedicab Stand and ATT Park. We can't wait to get you to Le Chapiteau!

Cabrio and Levi's - Free Rides Again!

levis.jpg

"I've never ridden on one of these before, but now I'm going to ride one to the game every time," - Ryan, age 9.

Cabrio and Levi's have paired up again for what some riders are calling Giants Fan Appreciation Week.

For the Giants' last home stand, versus the Dodgers and then the Padres, Levi's is using Cabrio to give back to the baseball community - Free Rides to the games!

"This is the best way to get around! -Marcia from San Jose

All 24 pedicabs have been activated - full Levi's wrapping on the bikes, drivers outfitted in Levi's jeans, and best of all, shirts that read 'Free Rides Provided by Levi's.' Fans have been wildly appreciative of the rides, from the parking lot to the game, BART to the stadium, back to their cars, or to one of the many places to eat and drink around AT & T Park.

For some fans, it's their first time on a pedicab, but many others remember Cabrio and Levi's from the World Series last year, and even from 2011!

Giving back to the community is part of Levis' DNA, and Cabrio is proving to be the perfect fleet for the job. Who needs to sit in traffic or walk from BART when a Cabrio pedicab is free and close at hand? Hop in - it's on Levi's!

From the Giants Fans, the Riders, and all of San Francisco.

Thanks, Levi's!

Thumbs Up for Pedicabbing With Mayor Ed Lee

Cabrio Taxi Pedicabber Jordan represented the SF Pedicab Community at the Jefferson Street re-opening last week. Jefferson Street, on Fisherman's Wharf between Hyde and Jones, has been closed for construction for the past several months to make it more safe and pedestrian friendly. There is now more sidewalk space, the street is two ways, and the pedestrian crossings are more reliable and quick. These updates will benefit visitors for the America's Cup as well as the millions of tourists who visit San Francisco each year. For pedicab drivers, the improved street area means more safety and more fun - less fighting with traffic = happier drivers and passengers.

Bikes, segways, scooters, and several other forms of transportation turned out for the opening parade. Jordan had a chance to chat with the mayor, and as it turns out, Mayor Ed Lee - "Loves pedicabs!"

Cabrio loves you, too, Mayor Lee. Come get a pedicab ride from us anytime.

The Bay Lights

bay_lights.jpg

http://vimeo.com/58165949 Most of what we hear when folks talk about the Bay Bridge are reports or complaints about traffic, construction and overbudget seismic retrofits. But coming in March, the Bay Bridge will be host to something other than a traffic jam. The Bay Lights is an art installation that melds art and technology and symbolizes the relationship between the two. Made of of 25,000 LED lights installed on various spans of the structure, the grand illumination is set for March 5, though we are lucky enough at Cabrio's shop to see some of the evening dress rehearsals as we have a bird's eye view of the south span of the bridge from our lounge. We are proud to serve as a partner for next week's grand lighting celebration on March 5 at 8:30pm and look forward to seeing you there.

http://vimeo.com/41574472 A video rendering of the planned sculpture. We can't wait to see the real thing on a pedicab by the Bay (Bridge)!
